Incredible
Outdoor Learning - Spring 2021
This term the children in Tarmon N.S have been busy gardening and sowing vegetables in out outdoor polytunnel. Each child in each class sowed a vegetable and each class has a key role in taking care of a certain vegetable. We hope to harvest them at the end of the school year. We have also been helping Joe take care of his bees and are enjoying the freshly made honey. We now know how important bees are for pollinating the food we eat and pollinate many of the trees.
Our work in the Polytunnell. Look at the amazing vegetables that the children have all been looking after. The junior infants even made lettuce sandwiches with the delicious lettuce.
‘A Christmas Connection’ - An initiative linking each of our 197 pupils with the residents of our local nursing homes this Christmas, spreading joy and Christmas cheer ☺️🎉🎅🏼
Take a look at the beautifully creative crafts that the children from each class made. The children also wrote Christmas letters to the residents of the local nursing homes in Castlerea which developed their writing and empathy skills.
