We had such a great time yesterday at Lough Key Forest Park for Day 3 of the Towards Inclusion Programme! It was brilliant to catch up with our friends from St Michael’s again.
We kicked things off with a tour of the tunnels and the stunning park grounds. Then we climbed to the top of Moylurg Tower and took in some amazing views of the lake. After that, we enjoyed some tasty food and headed to the playground for a bit of fun and laughter with our friends. Huge thanks to St Michael’s for putting the day together – we had an absolute blast! We recently celebrated World Book Day with a Whole School Book Quiz, where students and staff embraced the fun by dressing up as their favorite characters. It was a great fun guessing who they were! We were thrilled to welcome our friends from StMichael's Castlerea for the finale of the Towards Inclusion Pilot Programme last week.
The children enjoyed some popcorn as we watched some footage from the project. After this the children reflected on their favourite moments from their many experiences throughout last year and they sketched some special memories. Everyone was awarded a certificate to mark their achievements. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the students and staff from St Michael’s School for their joint support in this wonderful project. The programme was such a success that both schools are very excited to continue the project this year! We look forward to what the future holds! 🥰 The Teacher Artist Partnership (TAP) is a Creative Ireland Initiative funded by both the Department of Education and Skills and Creative Ireland. As part of this initiative, artist Lorraine Donoghue was paired with Third Class to work with us on a creative arts project. We made clay sculptures of our hands and we painted them today. It has been great fun exploring the medium of clay. Many thanks to Lorraine for all her help.
