Our boys and girls Cumann na mBunscol teams were both out in action this week in O Rourke Park, Castlerea. Well done to both teams on fantastic performances ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Last week we were very kindly invited by St. Michael’s to join them for fun and games in the Connacht GAA Air Dome. It was wonderful to meet up with our friends again and to top it off we got to unbox and wear our “Towards Inclusion” hoodies which we designed with the students of St Michael’s as part of the project.
Many thanks to St Michael's Castlerea for the invite and to Elaine Hannon for producing the hoodies. As part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, 6th Class have created "Tarmon Totes" - a business selling tie-dye bags made from recycled cotton.
1 bag costs €8 and 2 bags cost €15. For this price, the children can choose a maximum of three colours for the design and a word of their choice for the front of the bag. This can be their name or any other word they like. The order envelope includes all details. This is an invaluable programme teaching the challenges and rewards of running a business. We would greatly appreciate your support. Fourth Class have been working on a very exciting project recently and we are thrilled to share it with you! Please have a read of our publication "The Tarmon Times." We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
- From everyone in Fourth Class. Many thanks to Conor and Padraig from Harmac Medical Products who are working with 5th class for STEAM. We worked as Civil Engineers to make our own Paper Towers and Bridges. Last week we celebrated Safer Internet Day, an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people. It is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise.
For more information please visit the parents section of Webwise on the link below: Lily from Music Generation Roscommon visited us today for music.
The students had the opportunity to play percussion instruments collaboratively with their whole class and they explored beat, rhythm and dynamics. The drums were a huge hit!! 🥁 🥁 🥁 |
