Our Sixth Class pupils are thrilled with their new hoodies. A lovely keepsake from their time in Tarmon. 🎓
Senior Infants explored “Sunflowers” by VanGogh last week in art. They used their individual handprints to create a collaborative image of the sunflowers in the centre and they each drew their own version of the picture too. 🌻🌻🌻
Second Class are busy developing their gardening skills as part of the Woodie's Budding Gardeners Projects. They have now completed the first and second phases of the Sow it, Grow it & Show it Challenge. They planted a selection of summer bedding plants from seed and are excited to see them grow! 🌷🌼🌸
Congratulations to our pupils who were confirmed in St Patrick’s Church in Castlerea on 21st April. Many thanks to Fr John, to the pupils themselves, their parents, SNAs and teachers for the beautiful ceremony. Many thanks also to our school choir who added so much to the ceremony. 🕊 For the past five weeks all of our students have been participating in Bricks 4 Kidz Lego Workshops. These STEM Workshops taught the children some of the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths through working with Lego. The workshops were hands on lessons, designed to approach learning in an imaginative, multi-sensory and fun way, creating a dynamic learning experience for the children. Our school garden is looking amazing this week thanks to Sinead and many eager students who helped out. The fruit and vegetables planted by the pupils are now thriving in our polytunnel. The coop was given a make-over while our chickens went on their holidays. Many thanks to Morgan for taking such good care of them! 🐓🪴🌱🌻
Amanda from CyberSafeKids spoke to 3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th classes recently about online safety. The children learned all about their digital footprint and the importance of keeping their information private. They also explored topics such as geotagging and cyber bullying.
